Privacy And Optional Software
Understand local processing, installer choices and ordinary website requests.
Files And Local App Settings
Free File Shredder uses the BleachBit engine to overwrite and remove explicitly selected regular files. It does not scan for files automatically or wipe entire drives.
The main task processes files or settings on your Windows PC. This app does not need an online conversion or processing account. Local settings, logs and exported records can contain paths or filenames; review them before sharing.
Optional RelevantKnowledge Invitation
The interactive installer may download and open the official RelevantKnowledge research invitation from TMRG, a Comscore company. Participation is optional: select Decline or skip the download and continue installing this app. The application works without participating.
RelevantKnowledge is separate research software that can collect browsing and application activity in the background if you agree to participate. We may receive payment for participation. Opening its invitation is not consent. Read the official information before choosing.
RelevantKnowledge privacy policy · Research terms
Silent installation does not download or run the invitation. If installed with consent, RelevantKnowledge is managed separately in Windows Settings > Apps; uninstalling this app does not uninstall it.
Website Requests
Visiting this site or downloading a file sends ordinary web requests to our host. Server logs can include IP address, request URL, time, browser user agent and referring page. These logs are separate from the local files processed by the desktop app.
External Links And Choices
Links to upstream projects, research policies and source hosts are governed by those services. Do not send confidential files, passwords or personal logs in public issue reports.
